The Charterhouse estate includes the Grade II listed Coach House, gardens, parkland and additional sections of the monastic wall which will form part of the Heritage Park attraction. Charterhouse Estate is of significant aesthetic, artistic, architectural and historic interest and the Charterhouse buildings and grounds are of social and community value. The trust intend to re-establishes and repairs the landscape to a historic parkland with significant wildlife, woodland, wetland and riverside walks. To the north of the monastery buildings the orchards will be restored using traditional varieties of fruit trees and fish ponds will be reinstated
The impressive Sherbourne Railway Viaduct, designed by Stephenson in 1837 as part of the worlds first major inter-city railway will be a key feature of this project.
A master plan for the park as a whole has been developed by LUC landscape architects The Landscape Architects will be part of the design team taking this project forward.
Charterhouse Coventry has been supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to start developments of the planned Charterhouse Heritage Park.
