Sonian Kullar

Sonian has been living in Coventry since 1965 and attended Coundon Court Girls Schools followed by University of Aston (BSc Comb Hons) and University of Birmingham (Msc). Sonian has ran successful clothing manufacturing, retail, financial services and property investment companies and later studied at the University of Central England and College of Law.

She has served as a Governor at Coventry Tech College until its amalgamation with Tile Hill College to become City College and served with the NHS Executive for the West Midlands as a Lay Chair. Sonia has also been on the board of various community projects including Sahil and Foleshill Women’s Training and was one of the founder members of EMDA (Ethic Minority Development Alliance) which brought together the Indian, Pakistani, West Indian, Chinese, African communities and was instrumental in getting the funding to set up the One Stop Shop.

Sonian left her community work behind in 2000 to concentrate on her own businesses and to study Law. Now semi-retired the time is right to devote more time to the future development of the city.
